Alpinols CBD Oil

Alpinols produce both full-spectrum and broad-spectrum CBD oil. Their full-spectrum CBD oils have all the natural hemp extracts such as Cannabidiol (CBD), CBDv (Cannabidivarin), CBG (Cannabigerol), CBC (Cannabichromene) and CBT (Cannabicitran), as well as the naturally-occurring terpenes, flavonoids, and Omega acids. They also contain trace amounts of THC (less than 0.2% for their UK products), whilst their broad-spectrum CBD oils are 100% THC free.

All their CBD oils focus on maximising the entourage effect – a physiological phenomenon wherein the properties of active hemp compounds appear to be more powerful when consumed together rather than by themselves individually – through the preservation of synergy between the plants cannabinoids, terpenoids and flavonoids.

Their products are all derived from organic hemp plants that are cultivated according to Bio Suisse certified methods and their CBD extracts are produced using CO2 extraction, one of the cleanest extraction methods, resulting in a high-quality CBD oils. All their products are made in Switzerland.

Alpinols CBD oil is 100% organic and natural, gluten-free, GMO free and lab tested for purity and potency.

Alpinols offers a range of full and broad-spectrum CBD oils from organic hemp grown and cultivated in the Swiss Alps according to Bio Suisse certified methods.

As a Swiss CBD brand, Alpinols have had to adapt to the regulations of the Swiss market as well as the needs of consumers across Europe. For instance, Alpinols Original CBD oil contains less than 1% THC in Switzerland but the same product sold to the rest of the EU has less than 0.2% THC to comply with EU regulations.

Full and Broad-Spectrum CBD Oils

Alpinols offers one of the widest ranges of products when it comes to their CBD oils. For their 10ml bottles, you will have the choice between broad-spectrum and full-spectrum CBD oils in strength varying from 5% to 40%.

Special Editions Available

It’s also worth noting that Alpinols has launched two special editions of their CBD oil, by collaborating with Im Gegenteil and Tommy Chong (Discontinued).

Im Gegenteil is an online magazine for love, dating, emotions, sex, sustainability and period pains that was launched by best friends Anni and Jule. They are so convinced about the benefit of organic CBD oil that they have launched the Deine Tage 12% CBD oil in partnership with Alpinols.

But our favourite collab has to be Alpinols x Tommy Chong CBD Oil. Tommy Chong is a Canadian-American actor, writer, director, musician, cannabis rights activist and comedian. He is known for his marijuana-themed Cheech & Chong comedy albums and movies with Cheech Marin, as well as playing the character Leo on Fox’s That ’70s Show. He partnered with Alpinols to launch the Legend CBD oil, available in 10% and 30% concentration. Unfortunately, the Tommy Chong product line has now been discontinued.

Alpinols CBD Oil Efficacy

Alpinols CBD is Excellent for Pain Relief

We were very keen to review Alpinols CBD as to our knowledge, their CBD oil is the only one on the market to be made 100% in Switzerland – from seed to oil.

So how did it compare to other CBD oils using extracts from hemp grown in the US or the rest of Europe? Pretty well if you ask us!

Alpinols CBD oil has excellent analgesic properties, meaning that it works wonders to relieve pain. The oil is left under the tongue for 30-60 seconds and absorbed quickly into the bloodstream. It gets to work within 30 minutes and in my case it provided me with excellent pain relief day in and day out, throughout the duration of our product review.

By taking 20mg of their 1000mg full-spectrum CBD oil  immediately after a tough workout in the morning (on an empty stomach), an additional 10mg of CBD at lunchtime and 10mg of CBD just before bedtime, I experienced a substantial reduction of my pain levels, especially in the morning when my hip is usually very stiff and painful. As a full-spectrum CBD oil, this product is up there with some of the best full-spectrum CBD oils we have tested over the last few years.

Alpinols CBD oil allowed me to just simply get on with my day without worrying too much about hip pain or discomfort. I was able to remain active throughout the two weeks and even on days where I increased my physical activity, I was able to perform with little to no discomfort and was also able to stop taking traditional painkillers, which is always a plus in my book.

As a final point, it would be interesting to test a higher concentration products, especially their 40% CBD oil as I have found that my body reacts even better to higher concentration products. It may be that taking 2 drops of a 40% CBD oil offers better absorption than 8 drops of a similar product with a 10% concentration. One for our next review.

A CBD Oil Made for Sweet Dreams!

When it comes to sleep, Alpinols CBD oil worked incredibly well. By taking 10mg just before bedtime, I managed to fall asleep quickly and more importantly to stay asleep throughout the night. Yet, unlike traditional sleeping pills that may leave you feeling groggy and unwell the next day, Alpinols CBD oil makes you feel rested and full of energy!

So how does Alpinols CBD help improve sleep?

CBD is known to interact with specific receptors, specifically the CB1R and CB2R. CB1 receptors co-ordinate mood, emotion, appetite, and other functions. While CB2 receptors are responsible for controlling inflammation and pain. CBD stimulates these receptors and induces the body to release serotonin. Serotonin, or 5-HT, is a neurotransmitter that carries signals from one neuron to the other. CBD increases the level of serotonin, which, in return, helps relieve stress or anxiety and improve sleep.

This is backed by a 2019 study involving 72 patients experiencing anxiety and poor sleep. After taking 25mg of CBD (administered via capsules) daily, over 79% percent of patients reported lower anxiety levels and 67% experienced better sleep.

So if your insomnia or poor sleep are caused by stress or anxiety, I would highly recommend you check out Alpinols CBD.

Other Benefits of Alpinols CBD

While in the UK CBD has been classified as a ‘novel food’ and is therefore not a medicine prescribed to treat specific conditions, CBD oil has been shown to have several health benefits.

The human body contains a specialized system known as the ECS (endocannabinoid system), whose purpose is to regulate various functions such as sleep, appetite, pain, and the immune system responses. The body also makes endocannabinoids, which are simply neurotransmitters that bind to cannabinoid receptors in your nervous system.

CBD is thought to interact with specific receptors, specifically the CB1R and CB2R.

  • CB1 receptors, located in different regions of the body, are highly concentrated in the central nervous system and brain, regulating mood, emotions, appetite, and other functions.
  • CB2 receptors are found most abundantly in the immune system and are responsible for controlling inflammation and pain. CBD stimulates these receptors and causes the body to release serotonin.

Serotonin, or 5HT, is a neurotransmitter that carries signals from one neuron to another. CBD increases serotonin levels, thus helping to relieve pain, reduce inflammation, and provide a host of other health benefits, including:

  • CBD for Stress: CBD helps reduce stress and calm the body and mind, through its interaction with the hippocampus and amygdala.
  • CBD for Anxiety: CBD has both anti-anxiety and anti-depressant properties, and can be a great alternative to anxiety medications with known side effects.
  • CBD for Headaches: CBD reduces headache frequency, reduces stress, and improves sleep, two major headache triggers. But CBD also has strong analgesic (pain reliever) and antiemetic (prevents vomiting) properties that can help people with headaches during an attack.
  • CBD for Arthritis: CBD has anti-arthritic, analgesic (pain-relieving) as well as anti-inflammatory properties and is therefore a great choice for people with arthritis.
  • CBD for Cancer: CBD helps relieve some symptoms of cancer as well as reduce the side effects of anti-cancer drugs like nausea, vomiting, and pain.
  • CBD for Epilepsy: CBD helps reduce the frequency and intensity of seizures in epilepsy patients and may also counteract some of the side effects of traditional AEDs.

So if pain, insomnia, stress or anxiety are impacting your daily life, I would highly recommend you check out Mission C products.

Alpinols CBD Oil Taste

Whilst the most popular way to consume CBD is by using CBD tincture (oil), they often have a more earthy, nutty, woody or grass-like taste which is down to the fact the product is natural, safe, and non-toxic.

Not only is Alpinols CBD the only CBD oil on the market to be made 100% in Switzerland, but it is also one of the only CBD brands we have reviewed to use organic sunflower seed oil as a carrier. So how did that affect the taste of their CBD oil?

Taste: Outstanding Flavour Profile

When trying to assess the flavour profile of a CBD oil, it is often useful to look at the colour of the oil as it is often an indicator of how strong the oil actually is – the darker the oil, the stronger the taste.

At first glance, Alpinols 10% CBD oil is quite yellow in comparison to other oils, which is probably down to the fact that it uses organic sunflower seed oil instead of MCT or olive oil. From a consistency standpoint, their full-spectrum CBD seems slightly more oily than other products we’ve tried and tested, so it will feel a little different in your mouth.

The first thing you will notice when taking their CBD oil is that it has a very mild flavour profile. The taste of hemp is not too overpowering and we mainly got a nutty flavour coming from the sunflower seed oil as well as citruses and zesty notes.

We can only assume that this very unexpected and pleasant flavour profile is a result of their hemp plants that are cultivated according to Bio Suisse certified methods and the use of organic sunflower seed oil as a carrier.

All in all this is a great tasting CBD oil, especially since this is a full-spectrum products which has all the cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids and plant waxes.

As a matter of fact, we are not the only one to think they’ve done an outstanding job here and found a couple of official reviews touching on how good this CBD oil is. Well done Alpinols!

Sunflower seed oil was a surprise!
“Great product, I believe the best I’ve tried so far. It’s very natural, with a mild flavour. I’ve never tried something with sunflower seed oil as carrier oil and I was positively surprised.” – Christina

Broad-Spectrum & Water-Soluble Oils

We personally think that CBD oil is the best way to consume CBD as it gets absorbed quickly into the bloodstream in comparison to other products such as CBD capsules or gummies, which have to go through the digestive track.

However, if you don’t like the taste of hemp, even a with a full-spectrum CBD oil as mild as Alpinols, then you’ll be pleased to know that all their oils are also available in:

  • Broad-spectrum CBD: their broad-spectrum CBD oils go through an additional refinement process which removes the unwanted THC, waxes, and chlorophyll. By removing the waxes and chlorophyll, the oil is even more palatable than their full-spectrum products.
  • Water-soluble CBD: Their water soluble CBD oil uses a patented formula to ensure that the CBD drops can be dissolved in all liquids without any problems. They are available as both full and broad-spectrum and can be mixed to any beverage.

Alpinols CBD Oil Value for Money

Not only do we think that Alpinols has developed a CBD oil that is efficient and great tasting, but they’ve also sensibly priced their products which makes them great value for money.

A person between 150 and 240 lbs may need between 20mg and 40mg of CBD per day depending on the severity of their symptoms. A 10ml bottle of their 10% CBD oil (retail: £52.00) will therefore last between 25 and 50 days and cost between £1.04 and £2.08 per day, which is quite reasonably priced when compared to other CBD brands in our Top 10.

So heavy CBD users will need to place an order every month, whilst mild users may be able to push this to 2 months.

Advantages of Alpinols CBD Oil

Alpinols CBD oil has many advantages over other CBD products such as CBD capsules or CBD gummies.

  • Increased bioavailability – One of the main advantages of CBD oil over other products is the fact that CBD oil increases bioavailability – which means the amount of product that can be directly used by your body. The faster the CBD is absorbed, the sooner it can get to work. Gummies and edibles will take some time to be processed and broken down by your digestive system, making oil the fastest way to gain the benefits of CBD. When placed under the tongue, it comes into contact with the sublingual gland which speeds up the process of absorption and quickly enters the bloodstream.
  • Easy to Consume – When taken orally, CBD oil is very easy to consume and it also gives you the ability to use doses of the exact strength required thanks to the individual droplets.
  • No Sugar – When CBD is used in the form of gummies, chocolate or other edible products, it may not be in the best health interests of the person to eat such products. For example, people suffering from diabetes will need to carefully manage the food that they eat, and therefore CBD oil may be a better option.
  • No addictive or withdrawal issues – Finally, CBD gummies are a natural remedy that can be taken by almost anyone and possesses none of the addictive or withdrawal issues that other pain management or anxiety medications may present.

Disadvantages of Alpinols CBD Oil

Whilst there are mainly advantages in using CBD oil to get your daily dose of CBD using, there are unfortunately a few drawbacks which are worth considering.

  • Less Convenient – If you need to take CBD while in a public place, using CBD oil can be much less discreet than using edibles. While using CBD is not something that you need to hide, using a dropper to place the oil under your tongue may not be the most practical option when out an about, in which case capsules, gummies or other edibles may be preferred.
  • Interaction with other medications – It’s also worth noting that CBD may make it harder for your body to process certain medications, so if you are taking any other medications, be sure to check with your GP before taking CBD products.
  • Minor side effects – Finally, CBD can cause side effects in some people including drowsiness, changes in mood, nausea, and changes in appetite. Every individual will be affected differently, and in most cases, there are no side effects to worry about.

Alpinols CBD Oil Dosage

CBD doesn’t have one-size-fits-all dosing and calculating a proper dosage of CBD can be tough as our bodies react to it differently.

The four major factors affecting your CBD dosage are:

  • Your weight
  • The condition being treated (i.e. depression, chronic pain etc)
  • The severity of your condition
  • The concentration of CBD oil

Most brands recommend customers start with the lowest dose and increase until they find the right serving size that fits their needs. The most common starting amount is between 10mg and 25mg. For anxiety and depression, the dose can vary from 20mg to 50mg or more.

As a rule of thumb, a person weighting between 10.5 and 17 stones (approximately 150 and 240 lbs) may need between 20mg and 40mg of CBD per day depending on the severity of their symptoms.

When using CBD for the first time, we would always recommend starting with a one of two drops of the 3% or 6% CBD oil placed under the tongue (sublingual) and holding it there for at least 30 seconds so it can absorb into the bloodstream.

Taking it first thing in the morning on an empty stomach to see how your body reacts to it is also recommended. If you are not seeing any major benefits with a single drop, increase your intake by a single drop every 2 or 3 days until finding the right balance to treat your personal symptoms.

How Many Drops of Mission Oil Should You Take?

Whilst it may be confusing at the beginning, it’s incredibly simple to work out how many drops of CBD oil you need to take depending on your daily requirements and the strength of the product you bought.

Most bottles of CBD oil contain 10ml of product and come in strengths ranging from 300mg to 2,400mg – also known as 3% and 24% CBD oils. This simply means that in a 1ml drop of the 300mg bottle, you will have 30mg of CBD, whilst the same 1ml of the 2,400mg bottle will give you 8 times that amount for a total of 240mg of CBD.

So assuming you need to hit 25mg of CBD per day with a 10ml bottle, you will need:

CBD / Bottle CBD / Drop # Drops
500mg 1.25mg 20 drops
1000mg 2.5mg 10 drops
1800mg 4.5mg 5.5 drops
2400mg 6.0mg 4 drops

Assuming you are using the 500mg CBD oil for a daily dose of 25mg, you will need to take approximately 20 drops per day (25mg divided by 1.25mg per drop). You could break this down throughout the day by taking 8 drops first thing in the morning on an empty stomach, 6 drops early afternoon and 6 drops at night before going to bed.

If however you bought the 2400mg CBD oil for a daily dose of 25mg, you would only need to take 4 drops per day (25mg divided by 6mg per drop), which you could also spread across the day – 2 in the morning, one in the afternoon and one in the evening.

As with everything, start with a small amount of CBD oil daily to make sure there’s no reaction, then increase slowly by a drop every 1-2 days until finding the right balance.

“Been using it for chronic atopic dermatitis, eczema and the results are there. I have been using 4 to 8 drops once a day, and it helps with recurrence of eczema episodes. The cosmetic creams also are very well tolerated which is a first for me. I think considering the comments I’ll try increase the dosage to see if it can help stabilize the effect. Definitely would recommend.”

Alpinols CBD Oil Lab Reports

As a CBD company, Alpinols CBD plays the transparency card with their customers.

Since many CBD products contain pesticides, herbicides, mould, fungi and dangerous mycotoxins, Alpinols are working closely with CBD-test.ch, the first laboratory in Switzerland to specialise exclusively in cannabis products.

In addition to being sourced and extracted from the highest-grade certified Bio-Swiss hemp, they guarantee that their products are 100% organic and free of synthetic ingredients.

They allow customers to see their Certificates of Analysis online for each product line available on their site. Each lab report then breaks down the potency of cannabinoids, the presence of terpenes and flavonoids, but they do not show the absence of heavy metals, mycotoxins, pesticides or microbes.

Below is an example of their certificate of analysis for their 10% CBD oil.
