CBDfx CBD capsules are available as broad-spectrum soft gels as well as combined CBD+CBG morning capsules, all of which are THC free. Check out the best CBD capsules from CBDfx.

CBDfx CBD Capsules

CBDfx CBD capsules are made of broad-spectrum CBD and contains no artificial preservatives, no GMOs and no pesticides. As such, their CBD capsules have all the other all-natural hemp extracts such as Cannabidiol (CBD), CBDv (Cannabidivarin), CBG (Cannabigerol), CBC (Cannabichromene) and CBT (Cannabicitran), as well as the naturally-occurring terpenes, flavonoids, and Omega acids, but they are 100% THC free.

They have also designed a CBD and CBG morning capsule which has a 1:6 ratio (15mg of CBD and 2.5mg of CBG).

All their CBD capsules focus on maximising the entourage effect – a physiological phenomenon wherein the properties of active hemp compounds appear to be more powerful when consumed together rather than by themselves individually – through the preservation of synergy between the plants cannabinoids, terpenoids and flavonoids.

Their products are all derived from organic hemp plants that are grown under the highest agricultural directives in US (California) and CBD extracts are produced using CO2 extraction, one of the cleanest extraction methods, resulting in high-quality CBD capsules. All their products are made in the US.

CBDfx CBD capsules are vegan friendly, gluten-free, organic, GMO free, lab tested and free from THC, CBN & THCV, ensuring you get the purest CBD possible.

CBDfx focus on both broad-spectrum CBD capsules and a range combining CBD+CBG (1:6 ratio), the mother of all cannabinoids.

Since CBDfx have been in business since 2014, one of the longest CBD brands in the US, they have managed to develop a large range of products, including 3 different types of CBD capsules.

CBDfx Soft Gel Capsules

Their soft gel capsules only come in a single strength (25mg per capsule), but you will have the choice between two bottle sizes, one containing 30 capsules per bottle and 750mg of CBD and one containing 60 capsules per bottle with 1500mg of CBD.

CBD (mg) # Capsules CBD / Capsule
750mg 30 25mg
1500mg 60 25mg

Choosing capsules is a great way to get your CBD intake and it’s incredibly travel friendly, the ideal solution for those who are always on the go.

As with other CBDfx products, their capsules contain no pesticides, herbicides, solvents or chemical fertilizers, they are sourced from organically grown, non-GMO, pesticide-free hemp plants that have been grown in the US and they have also been lab tested for potency and purity.

Price wise, you can get a box of 30 capsules in 25mg strength for £39.99 (£1.33 per capsule), or a box of 60 capsules for £64.99 (£1.08 per capsule) which means going for the larger bottle works out cheaper in the long run.

CBDfx Hemp Soft Gel (Small Pouch)

If you are interested in CBDfx gel capsules but are not ready to commit to a full bottle of 30 or 60 capsules, you can give their hemp soft gel pouch which only contains 8 soft gels for a total of 200mg of CBD. As with their full bottle, each CBD capsule contains 25mg of broad-spectrum CBD, as well as MCT oil.

This small pouch retails at £14.99 which works out at £1.87 per capsule, so substantially more expensive that their larger bottle.

CBD+CBG Morning Tablets

If you are looking for CBD products containing both CBD and CBG, you may want to check out CBDfx CBD+CBG morning tablets which contain 15mg of CBD per capsule and 2.5mg of CBD, although the daily recommended serving is 2 capsules so 30mg of CBD and 5mg of CBG.

These broad spectrum CBD tablets also contain the powerful amino acid L-Tyrosine — known for its ability to improve concentration in mentally-intensive tasks.

Price wise, the box of 60 capsules (900mg of CBD) retails at £49.99 or £0.83 per capsule.

CBDfx CBD Capsules Efficacy

As CBDfx CBD capsules come in a single strength, it has been incredibly easy for us to test their products as we have not had to worry about calculating how many drop sof oil we need to take.

We opted for a bottle of their 750mg CBD gel capsules which contain 30 individual capsules. Each capsule is made from natural ingredients and broad-spectrum cannabis extract, which means they contain all the other all-natural hemp extracts such as Cannabidiol (CBD), CBDv (Cannabidivarin), CBG (Cannabigerol), CBC (Cannabichromene) and CBT (Cannabitriol), as well as all of the naturally-occurring terpenes, flavonoids, and Omega acids. However, as they are broad-spectrum CBD capsules, they do not contain any THC but still benefits from the entourage effect.

During our week-long test, we took 25mg of CBD in the morning on an empty stomach (1 x 25mg capsules) and another 25mg (1 x 25mg capsule) in the middle of the day, giving us a total of 50mg of CBD per day.

So unlike their CBD oils which are easy to use as you can get a precise amount of CBD each day, their CBD capsules make it a little trickier to get the right CBD dosage as you’ll only be able to consume it in 25mg increments – 25mg, 50mg, 75mg and so on.

So how well did CBDfx CBD capsules perform?

CBDfx CBD Capsules for Pain & Inflammation

After testing their 5% CBD oil last year, we were slightly disappointed by its performance, so we had high hopes for their CBD capsules, especially when it comes to their analgesic (i.e. to relieve pain) and anti-inflammatory properties. We weren’t disappointed as the quality of their CBD capsules seemed somewhat better than their CBD oil, which is surprising given the fact that they use the same CBD extracts and extraction process to make their oils and their capsules.

The capsules are easily swallowed with a glass of water (or beverage of your choice), but unlike CBD oil which is absorbed quickly into the bloodstream, they have to go through the digestive track and therefore take a little longer to get to work. On average, the effects of their CBD capsules are felt 45min to 60min after taking them, which isn’t ideal if you are looking for a fast acting CBD product.

By taking 1 CBD capsules (25mg) immediately after a tough workout in the morning (on an empty stomach), an one additional capsule (25mg of CBD) in the middle of the day, I did experience an improvement of my symptoms and a reduction of my pain levels.

The reason why their CBD capsules may have worked better than their CBD oil could simply be down to the amount of CBD consumed. During a CBD oil test, we usually take 20mg of CBD first thing in the morning but as we tried a low concentration product, it may be that a 25mg CBD capsules works better to ease the pain.

In that respect, their CBD capsules have allowed me to just simply get on with my day without worrying too much about hip pain or discomfort, although once again you’ll experience a slight delay as they first have to be broken down by the digestive system. Even on days where I increased my physical activity, I was able to perform with little to no discomfort and I managed to stay away from traditional painkillers during the whole week, which is a win in my book.

Immediately after I stopped taking CBDfx 25mg CBD soft gel capsules at the end of the week long product test, I noticed that my hip slowly started to be painful and stiff again, especially first thing in the morning and after my daily workout. After two or three days of not taking their CBD capsules, the pain and discomfort were back during the day and my sleep was disrupted due to the pain, which clearly shows that their CBD capsules do provide pain relief.

CBDfx CBD Capsules for  Sleep

So how did their CBD perform when it comes to improving sleep and fighting insomnia? The short answer is that we didn’t really truly test for this as our second CBD capsules was usually taken around 2-3pm instead of an hour before bed, so the effects of their capsules were not felt.

But judging by how they performed in terms of pain relief, we would expect them to help those struggling to fall asleep or to stay asleep throughout the night. The one caveat we would have is that 25mg of CBD before bed might be a lot for some people who just want to ingest 10mg to take the edge off.

CBDfx CBD Capsules Value for Money

CBDfx has developed CBD capsules that are efficient, and whilst they seem sensibly priced, the fact that they contain a whopping 25mg of CBD makes them quite pricey. Here’s why.

A person between 150 and 240 lbs may need between 20mg and 40mg of CBD per day depending on the severity of their symptoms. A bottle of their 750mg CBD capsules (retail: £39.99) contain 30 individual capsules that will last between 19 and 37 days and cost between £1.06 and £2.10 per day (excluding shipping), although this is based on the total amount of CBD per bottle.

Seeing as their capsules contain 25mg of CBD, it is impossible to get exactly 20mg a day, so a bottle will essentially last between 30 days when taking 1 capsule per day and 15 days when taking 2 capsules, and cost between £1.33 and £2.66 per day which is slightly less economical, but still decent value when compared to other CBD capsules on the market.

This is one of the main downsides of having 25mg capsules instead of 10mg ones, and the reason why we wouldn’t recommend them for people suffering from mild conditions.

Based on 20mg of CBD per day, here’s how the best CBD capsules stack-up in terms of daily cost:

CBD (mg) Price Daily Cost
Honest Hemp 30 x 25mg £39.99 £1.06
CBDfx 30 x 25mg £39.99 £1.06
Medterra 30 x 25mg £40.98 £1.09
Love CBD 30 x 20mg £34.99 £1.16
Blessed CBD 30 x 30mg £59.95 £1.33
Hempura 30 x 10mg £19.99 £1.33
Naturecan 30 x 10mg £19.99 £1.33
Provacan 30 x 24mg £49.99 £1.39
Four Five CBD 60 x 10mg £50.00 £1.67
Holistic Hemp 30 x 15mg £50.00 £2.22

Advantages of CBDfx CBD Capsules

CBDfx CBD capsules have many advantages over other CBD products such as CBD oil or CBD gummies.

  • Easy to use and discreet – CBD capsules are incredibly easy to use as it is essentially the same as taking vitamin pills. It is one of the most inconspicuous way to get your daily dose of CBD as all you have to do is swallow a capsule with a glass of water.
  • Precise dosage – Dosage couldn’t be easier and more precise than with CBD capsules, as each pill contain an exact amount of CBD (e.g. 10mg per capsule). Unlike CBD oil, you do not need to count how many drops you need to take.
  • No nasty aftertaste – Whilst CBD oils tend to have a very earthy or grassy taste, CBD capsules are simply swallowed and do not have any taste at all. For that reason, they are an excellent alternative to CBD oils who often have a strong aftertaste.
  • A great alternative – For people who do not like to put CBD oil under their tongue or for those who do not want to consume additives such as sugar present in CBD gummies, CBD capsules are a great alternative as you simply need to swallow them and do not have to chew or leave the oil under your tongue as you would with gummies or CBD oil.
  • No addictive or withdrawal issues – Finally, CBD capsules are a natural remedy that can be taken by almost anyone and possesses none of the addictive or withdrawal issues that other pain management or anxiety medications may present.

Disadvantages of CBDfx CBD Capsules

Whilst there are quite a few advantages to getting your daily dose of CBD using CBDfx CBD capsules, there are unfortunately several drawbacks which are worth considering.

  • Less bioavailable – the term bioavailability stands for the proportion of a drug or substance which reaches the systemic circulation. By definition, when a substance is administered intravenously, its bioavailability is 100%. However, when the same substance is administered via other routes (e.g. mouth), its bioavailability is generally lower than that of intravenous due to the fact that it needs to go through the intestines and digestion process. For that reason, CBD oil is more bioavailable than CBD capsules as it comes into contact with the sublingual gland (under the tongue) which speeds up the process of absorption and quickly enters the bloodstream.
  • Not fast acting – another problem with CBD capsules is that they are not as fast acting as CBD oil seeing as it will take some time to be processed and broken down by your digestive system. So seeing as the faster the CBD is absorbed, the sooner it can get to work, CBD capsules will usually take between 30-60 minutes to act when CBD oil takes less than 20 minutes.
  • Interaction with other medications – It’s also worth noting that CBD may make it harder for your body to process certain medications, so if you are taking any other medications, be sure to check with your GP before taking CBD products.
  • Minor side effects – Finally, CBD can cause side effects in some people including drowsiness, changes in mood, nausea, and changes in appetite. Every individual will be affected differently, and in most cases, there are no side effects to worry about.

CBDfx CBD Capsules Dosage

CBD capsules are similar to vitamin or supplement pills and as such can be taken in the same way.

Each capsule contains a precise amount of CBD – usually between 10mg and 50mg of CBD per capsule – and as such can be stronger than a single drop of CBD oil, so be sure to check the strength or your capsules and your ideal dosage before taking them.

How Much CBD Should I Consume?

When using CBD capsules for the first time, we would always recommend starting with a small dose and working your way up. Most people will start with a 5mg to 10mg capsules taking 1 at a time, preferably in the morning on an empty stomach to see how your body reacts to it.

If you are not seeing any major benefits with a single capsule, increase your intake by an additional capsule every 3-5 days until finding the right balance to treat your personal symptoms.

As a rule of thumb, a person weighting between 10.5 and 17 stones (approximately 150 and 240 lbs) may need between 20mg and 40mg of CBD per day depending on the severity of their symptoms.

How Many CBD Capsules Should I Take?

Whilst it may be confusing at the beginning, it’s incredibly simple to work out how many CBD capsules you need to eat depending on your daily requirements and the strength of the product you bought. Most CBD capsules contain between 5mg of CBD and 50mg of CBD.

So assuming you need to hit 25mg of CBD per day you will need:

CBD / Capsule Capsules / Day
5mg 5 capsules
10mg 2-3 capsules
25mg 1 capsule

If however you are trying to hit 50mg of CBD per day, you will need:

CBD / Capsules Capsules / Day
5mg 10 capsules
10mg 5 capsules
25mg 2 capsules
50mg 1 capsule

Assuming that you are trying to hit 50mg of CBD per day and use 5mg CBD capsules, you could break this down throughout the day and take 4 capsules in the morning on an empty stomach, 3 capsules early afternoon and 3 capsules in the evening.

As with everything, start with a small amount of CBD daily to make sure there’s no reaction, then increase slowly by a drop every 1-2 days until finding the right balance.

CBDfx Reviews

CBDfx has built a great reputation in the US and collected over 18,000 reviews on its own website. However, the company only has 5 verified reviews on Trustpilot, with an average rating of 2.9 out of 5, which raises a few question when it comes to the transparency of their review program. Below is one of the Trustpilot reviews.

Cured Sleep Aches & Pains
“Ordered with international shipping from US to Finland. Package was seized by Finnish border customs. I have waited for a week and there were no update from customs. Wrote about this to cbdfx and sent them proof (screenshots from communication with FEDEX) that package was seized… Cbdfx sent out new package for free “as a one-time courtesy” like they said. 5 star customer service and great communication! Second package was also seized by customs and I lost my money 100+€”

CBDfx CBD Capsules Lab Reports

As a CBD company who has been around since 2014, CBDfx plays the transparency card with their customers.

Since many CBD products contain pesticides, herbicides, mould, fungi and dangerous mycotoxins, CBDfx are working closely with California Cannabis Testing Labs, a testing facility for CBD and hemp based products based in California.

In addition to being sourced and extracted from the highest-grade certified organic US hemp, they guarantee that their products are 100% organic and free of synthetic ingredients.

They allow customers to see their Certificates of Analysis online for each product line available in their site. Each lab report then breaks down the potency of cannabinoids, the presence of terpenes and flavonoids, as well as the absence of heavy metals, mycotoxins, pesticides or microbes.

Below is an example of their certificate of analysis for their 1500mg CBD Oil, but certificates for their CBD capsules are also available on their site.

Health Benefits of CBDfx CBD Capsules

The human body contains a specialized system called the ECS (the endocannabinoid system), which aim is to regulate a variety of functions such as sleep, appetite, pain and immune system response. The body also produces endocannabinoids, which are simply neurotransmitters that bind to cannabinoid receptors in your nervous system.

CBD is believed to interact with specific receptors, specifically the CB1R and CB2R.

  • CB1 receptors, which are located in various regions of the body, with a large concentration in the central nervous system and brain, co-ordinate mood, emotion, appetite, and other functions.
  • CB2 receptors are more commonly found in the immune system and are responsible for controlling inflammation and pain. CBD stimulates these receptors and induces the body to release serotonin.

Serotonin, or 5-HT, is a neurotransmitter that carries signals from one neuron to the other. CBD increases the level of serotonin, which, in return, helps reduce pain, reduce inflammation as well as provide a range of other health benefits, which include:

  • CBD for Pain Relief: CBD has analgesic (pain relief) properties and can help with many painful conditions such as arthritis, headache disorders, migraines, back pain or period pain.
  • CBD for Sleep: CBD has a calming effect on both the mind and the body, allowing people to fall asleep more easily and stay asleep throughout the night.
  • CBD for Stress: CBD helps reduce stress and calm both the body and mind, through its interaction with both the Hippocampus and the Amygdala.
  • CBD for Anxiety: CBD has both anti-anxiety and antidepressant properties, and can be a great alternative to anxiety medications which have known side-effects.
  • CBD for Headaches: CBD reduces the frequency of headaches as well as reduce stress and improve sleep, two major triggers of headaches. But CBD also has strong analgesic (pain relief) and antiemetic (prevent vomiting) properties which can help people with headache disorders during an attack.
  • CBD for Arthritis: CBD has antiarthritic, analgesic (pain relief) as well as anti-inflammatory properties and as such is a great option for people suffering from arthritis.
  • CBD for Cancer: CBD helps relieve some of the symptoms of cancer as well as reducing the side of effects of cancer medication such as nausea, vomiting and pain.
  • CBD for Epilepsy: CBD helps reduce the frequency and intensity of seizures in epileptic patients, and may also counteract some of the side effects of traditional anti-epileptic.
