The company grows its hemp in sunny Colorado (USA) and it uses a supercritical CO2 extraction process to produce their full and broad-spectrum CBD oils.

Why Do We Test CBD Products?
I launched CBD Unboxed because I suffer from a medical condition called bilateral femoroacetabular impingement (known as FAI), which over the last 20 years has completely damaged all the cartilage in my hip, resulting in hip osteoarthritis. As hip arthritis is an very painful condition, and to avoid relying on traditional painkillers which have known side effects, I turned to more natural products and found CBD to work very well for me.
I have now used CBD for the past 7 years but since many CBD companies in the UK are selling low quality products and given there is still a lot of stigma regarding CBD and THC, I launched CBD Unboxed to help you find the best products on the market.

Our Review: Blessed 10% CBD Oil
The review carried out by the CBD Unboxed team focused on Blessed 10% CBD Oil (10% concentration with hemp seed oil carrier), which contains all the natural hemp extracts such as Cannabidiol (CBD), CBDv (Cannabidivarin), CBG (Cannabigerol), CBC (Cannabichromene) and CBT (Cannabicitran), as well as the naturally-occurring terpenes, flavonoids, and Omega acids.
As it is a full-spectrum CBD oil, it also contains trace amounts of THC, but it is non-psychoactive as the hemp plant used to produce the CBD extracts contain less than 0.2% THC.
During the two-week period, we took 20mg of CBD in the morning on an empty stomach, followed by 10mg at lunchtime and a further 10mg an hour before bedtime, giving us a total of 40mg of CBD per day.
Price-wise, their 10% CBD Oil retails at £74.95 (£0.075 per mg of CBD) which makes it a pricier alternative. However, when it comes to its effectiveness, this remains one of the best CBD oils we’ve ever tried and tested.

So how well did Blessed full-spectrum CBD perform in our review?
Blessed Review: Effectiveness (9.5/10)
Blessed CBD Oil for Pain Relief
After taking Blessed CBD oil for a period of two weeks, I can confidently say that it is a very high quality full-spectrum oil which has robust pain relieving and anti-inflammatory properties.
This probably explained why UFC fighter and middle weight champion of the world Israel Adesanya (pictured above) partnered with Blessed. He has spoken several times about his use of CBD to reduce inflammation, improve recovery after training and fight pain when he is injured.
From my personal experience, I tend to feel incredibly sore first thing in the morning as I have been lying in bed for 7-8 hours and my hip is usually really stiff. However, by simply taking 20mg of CBD oil first thing in the morning, I felt absolutely amazing and was able to get on with my day without having to worry too much about hip pain or discomfort.
This was also the case on days where I hit the gym or increased my physical activity.
So if like me you suffer from a painful condition like arthritis, you’ll find that their CBD oil should help you from a pain management perspective.
As a final point, it would be interesting to test their higher concentration products, especially Blessed 18% CBD oil as arthritis of the hip joint is incredibly painful and it would be good to see how higher strength products perform in comparison to their 10% concentration. One for our next review.
Other Benefits of Blessed CBD
Other than helping with pain and inflammation, we found Blessed CBD oil to work incredibly well for other conditions such as sleep, anxiety or stress.
This is because CBD interacts the specific receptors in the body, namely CB1R and CB2R.
- CB1 receptors, which are located in various regions of the body, with a large concentration in the central nervous system and brain, co-ordinate mood, emotion, appetite, and other functions.
- CB2 receptors are more commonly found in the immune system and are responsible for controlling inflammation and pain. CBD stimulates these receptors and induces the body to release serotonin.
CBD also increases the level of Serotonin, or 5-HT, a neurotransmitter that carries signals from one neuron to the other. In doing so, it helps with the below conditions:
- CBD Oil for Sleep: By taking CBD oil just before going to bed, it relaxes both the mind and body and helps you fall asleep faster, as well as stay asleep throughout the night.
- CBD Oil for Stress: Through its interaction with the hippocampus and the amygdala, CBD oil can relax the mind and reduce the symptoms of stress.
- CBD Oil for Fibromyalgia: CBD oil can help fibromyalgia sufferers by reducing the pain experienced as well as the level of inflammation, and it can also improve their sleep.

- CBD Oil for Arthritis: As we have seen during our 2-week product review, CBD has antiarthritic, pain relieving as well as anti-inflammatory properties making it a great option for people suffering from arthritis.
- CBD Oil for Nausea: CBD is know to have antiemetic properties, meaning that it prevents people from feeling nauseous or wanting to vomit. It has been used widely for cancer patients as it helps relieve some of the side-effects of chemotherapy.
- CBD Oil for Period Cramps: CBD has been proven to help reduce unpleasant period-related symptoms such as pain, cramping, poor sleep, nausea and anxiety
Blessed Review: Taste (8.5/10)
A Lovely Taste for a Full-Spectrum Oil
The first thing you’ll notice when opening a bottle of their full-spectrum CBD oil us that it has quite a dark brown colour. This usually indicates a stronger flavour profile – i.e. the darker the oil, the more likely it is to contain all the terpenes, flavanoids and plant waxes and therefore to have a very earthy taste.
However, after taking Blessed 10% CBD oil for two weeks, it is fair to say that it taste rather nice for a full-spectrum oil. When swallowing the oil after leaving it under the tongue for 30-60 seconds, you’ll experience a slight grassy taste and a little bit of a bitter aftertaste, but it is not unpleasant and won’t linger in your mouth very long (10-15 seconds max).
For a Better Taste: Broad-Spectrum CBD
For those of you who do not like the natural taste of full-spectrum CBD oils, Blessed have launched a new range of broad-spectrum oils which are better tasting and contain zero THC:

Whilst we love Blessed 10% CBD oil for its efficacy and the fact they offer both broad and full spectrum products, it is fair to say their CBD oils are on the pricier side.
The average CBD user will usually consume between 20mg and 40mg of CBD per day depending on their condition and the severity of their symptoms. A 10ml bottle of their 1000mg CBD oil (retail: £74.95) will therefore last between 25 and 50 days and cost between £1.50 and £3.00 per day (with free shipping), which we think is on the more expensive side.
