Supreme CBD is a Liverpool-based CBD brand that was specifically designed for athletes by a British professional boxer. Check out our full review of Supreme CBD below.

About Supreme CBD

Founded in 2020 by a British professional boxer who as an amateur won a bronze medal at the 2013 World Championships and gold at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, Supreme CBD is not only on a mission to promote the benefits of cannabinoids to the UK market, but has also developed a broad-spectrum athletes’ range, A THC-free formulation and the perfect alternative for those taking regular drug tests.

Their Hemp is grown in Europe and they use a CO2 extraction process to produce both their full-spectrum CBD oils and broad-spectrum CBD oils.

Supreme CBD oil is made of both full-spectrum and broad-spectrum CBD and contains no artificial preservatives, no GMOs and no pesticides. Their CBD oils have all the natural hemp extracts such as CBD (Cannabidiol), CBDv (Cannabidivarin), CBG (Cannabigerol), CBC (Cannabichromene) and CBT (Cannabicitran), as well as all the naturally-occurring terpenes, flavonoids, and Omega acids. The only difference being that their broad-spectrum products are THC, CBN & THCV free, ensuring you get the purest CBD possible with 0% THC.

All their CBD oils focus has been on maximising the entourage effect – a physiological phenomenon wherein the properties of active hemp compounds appear to be more powerful when consumed together rather than by themselves individually – through the preservation of synergy between the plants cannabinoids, terpenoids and flavonoids.

Supreme CBD oil is vegan friendly, gluten-free, organic, GMO free and lab tested for purity and potency.

As a British professional boxer, the founder of Supreme CBD focused on developing a broad-spectrum athletes’ range, a THC-free formulation which is the perfect alternative for those taking regular drug tests and unable to consume their full-spectrum formulation.

Supreme CBD Review

7.7

Supreme CBD has been officially tested and reviewed by the CBD Unboxed team. Products have not been gifted by the brand and as such, this review is 100% independent and based on our personal findings.

The CBD Unboxed Story

I founded CBD Unboxed because I suffer from bilateral femoroacetabular impingement (known as FAI), a painful condition in which extra bone grows on the head of the femur (hip joint), giving the bones an irregular shape.

Because they do not fit together perfectly, the bones rub against each other during movement. Over time this friction can damage the joint, causing pain and resulting in arthritis of the hip joint.

To manage my pain and to avoid relying on traditional painkillers which have known side effects, I turned to more natural products and found CBD to be a godsend. I have been using CBD for the past 3 years and want to share my experience, so you too can experience the health benefits of CBD which are wide ranging – from pain relief and improved sleep, to reduced anxiety and depression. If you want to find out more about how you could benefit from CBD, check out this article on the effects of CBD.

Supreme CBD oil was tested by myself and the rest of the CBD Unboxed team for a period of 2 weeks. Our review of VAAY CBD covers 7 key metrics and at the end of this article we also recommend what we believe to be the best CBD products from Supreme CBD:

Our Test: Supreme 10% CBD Oil

The test carried out by the CBD Unboxed team focused on Supreme CBD oil 3000mg (30ml bottle – equivalent to 10% concentration, with organic MCT oil carrier), which contains all the natural hemp extracts such as Cannabidiol (CBD), CBDv (Cannabidivarin), CBG (Cannabigerol), CBC (Cannabichromene) and CBT (Cannabitriol), as well as the naturally-occurring terpenes, flavonoids, and Omega acids which can be found in full-spectrum products. Their CBD oil benefits from the entourage effect and contains trace amounts of THC (below the UK regulatory level of 0.2%).

During our two-week product review, we took 20mg of CBD in the morning on an empty stomach, followed by 10mg at lunchtime and a further 10mg an hour before bedtime, giving us a total of 40mg of CBD per day.

Their products are all derived from organic hemp plants that are grown under the highest agricultural directives in the Europe and their products are made in the UK.

The characteristics of their 3000mg (10%) CBD oil are detailed below.

So how well did Supreme full-spectrum CBD oil perform in our review?

Product Efficacy (7/10)

A Good CBD Oil for Pain Relief

Whilst Supreme CBD oil isn’t the most efficient 10% CBD oil we’ve tried and tested over the years, it certainly has very good analgesic properties, meaning that it does a good job at relieving pain.

By taking 8 drops (20mg) of their 3000mg CBD oil immediately after a tough workout in the morning (on an empty stomach), 4 additional drops (10mg of CBD) just before lunch and 4 drops before bedtime (20mg of CBD) I experienced an improvement of my symptoms and a reduction of both my pain levels and overall hip discomfort.

The oil is left under the tongue for 30-60 seconds and absorbed quickly into the bloodstream. It gets to work within 30 minutes and in my case it provided me with adequate pain relief throughout the duration of our product review.

However, the reason why Supreme CBD oil doesn’t get top mark on the efficacy front comes down to the fact that the effects of their CBD oil seem to wear off slightly faster than other products we’ve tested. So whilst their oil did a good job to relieve pain, I sometimes found myself needing to take a few more drops in the middle of the day, just to be able to deal with the pain. This was primarily an issue on days where I increased the intensity or the duration of my workouts, so it shouldn’t be a problem for most people using Supreme CBD.

So all in all, I was able to get on with my day with little to no discomfort and I was also able to stop taking traditional painkillers, which is a win in my book!

As a final point, it would be interesting to test their higher concentration products, especially 6000mg CBD oil (20% concentration) as arthritis of the hip joint is incredibly painful and it would be good to see how higher strength products perform in comparison to their 10% concentration. One for our next review.

Supreme CBD for Muscle Recovery

If like me you like to workout every day or you have an active lifestyle, you’ll be pleased to know that Supreme CBD products seems to do a very good job when it comes to reducing inflammation and accelerating muscle recovery.

Exercise, be it High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), Resistance Training (RT) or Weight-Lifting – is pro-inflammatory. Put it simply, muscle fibres get damaged during a tough workout and inflammation comes into play during the repair process. Inflammation causes the body to increases the blood flow to the affected area to replenish oxygen, fuel muscles, and clear out harmful waste products and cellular debris, then the immune system signals for the body to begin the repair process and fix the damage caused.

Whist we would not recommend taking CBD immediately after a workout, as this inflammation process is absolutely critical to recover or grow muscle, taking CBD a few hours later (once the inflammatory response has been triggered) will usually help with muscle recovery and to reduce muscle soreness the next day.

I’ve had the opportunity to test a few Supreme CBD products, and they have proven to be excellent at reducing inflammation and helping with muscle recovery post workout. And whilst ingesting CBD oil isn’t a targeted approach for muscle recovery since it does not focus on a single area of the body, I have found that taking CBD 3-4 hours after a workout (around lunchtime) has helped me tremendously with muscle soreness and inflammation.

I was able to increase my physical activity substantially during our 2-week product review, and not once woke up with sore muscles, which clearly shows that taking CBD a few hours after exercise will not blunt the immediate inflammatory response, but will decrease inflammation later in the day and help you recover.

Taste (8/10)

Whilst the most popular way to consume CBD is by using CBD tincture (oil), they often have a more earthy, nutty, woody or grass-like taste which is down to the fact the product is natural, safe, and non-toxic.

A Good Flavour Profile for a Full-Spectrum Oil

When we first started taking Supreme CBD oil, we noticed that the colour of their oil is slightly yellow(ish) / green(ish), which is often an indicator of how strong the oil actually is – the darker or more colourful the oil, the stronger the taste.

However, after taking it for two weeks, it is fair to say that their CBD has quite a nice flavour profile for a full-spectrum CBD oil. When swallowing the oil after leaving it under the tongue for 30-60 seconds, you will get a bit of an grassy taste in your mouth but no bad aftertaste which is a plus in our book!

Dimensions Our Analysis
Colour Yellow(ish)
Smell Very Mild
Taste Mild
Aftertaste Minimal
Flavour(s) MCT oil and slightly grassy

Now whilst we expect broad-spectrum CBD oils to have quite a mild flavour profile, we have to recognise the fact that Supreme CBD did a really good job here as this is a full-spectrum product and we’d expect a more pronounced flavour profile. This could be down to the fact that this is a 30ml bottle or the fact that by using an MCT oil carrier, the taste of the oil is improved in comparison to other CBD products using hempseed oil.

Value for Money (9/10)

Now that we’ve established that Supreme CBD is both an efficient and great tasting CBD oil, how does their 10% CBD oil stack up when it comes to value for money?

A person between 150 and 240 lbs may need between 20mg and 40mg of CBD per day depending on the severity of their symptoms. A 30ml bottle of their 3000mg CBD oil (retail: £99.99) will therefore last between 75 and 150 days and cost between £0.67 and £1.34 per day (with free shipping), which makes it one of the cheapest CBD oils in our Top 10.

Based on 20mg of CBD per day, here’s how the Top 10 CBD brands stack-up in terms of daily cost:

Strength Price Daily Cost
Love Hemp 10% £99.99 £0.66
Medterra 10% £99.99 £0.67
Supreme CBD 10% £99.99 £0.67
Honest Hemp 10% £34.99 £0.78
Holistic Hemp 10% £40.00 £0.91
Love CBD 10% £99.99 £1.00
Naturecan 10% £54.99 £1.10
Provacan 12% £69.95 £1.25
VAAY 10% £64.90 £1.28
Hempura 10% £64.99 £1.30
Blessed CBD 10% £74.99 £1.50
Bud & Tender 10% £80.00 £1.60

So heavy CBD users will need to place an order every 2.5 months, whilst mild users may be able to push this to 5 months, which makes it incredible value for money.

In terms of how it compares to other brands in our Top 10, we think that the efficacy to value for money ratio is close to unbeatable, and for that reason alone we’d highly recommend you give Supreme CBD oil a go.

Product Range (7/10)

Whilst Supreme CBD have only been in business since early 2020, they have managed to create a wide range of full and broad-spectrum CBD products, including CBD oils, CBD gummies, CBD capsules, and CBD topicals.

To date, Supreme CBD offer 2 different types of CBD oils, each designed for a different market.

Supreme CBD Oils

Full-Spectrum CBD Oils

If you are looking for a CBD oil that benefits from the entourage effect and contains THC, you’ll be pleased to know that Supreme CBD have developed an impressive range of full-spectrum CBD oil, available in different strengths and two sizes – 30ml and 100ml:

CBD (mg) Bottle (ml) Concentration
Supreme CBD Oil 500mg 30ml 1.5%
Supreme CBD Oil 1000mg 30ml 3%
Supreme CBD Oil 1500mg 30ml 5%
Supreme CBD Oil 3000mg 30ml 10%
Supreme CBD Oil 6000mg 30ml 20%
Supreme CBD Oil 12000mg 100ml 12%
Supreme CBD Oil 24000mg 100ml 24%

*Amount of CBD oil per drop = 0.025ml

Their 500mg CBD oil retails at £44.90 (£0.09 per mg of CBD), their 1000mg oil at £64.99 (£0.06 per mg of CBD) and their 3000mg CBD oil in 30ml bottle at £99.99 (£0.03 per mg of CBD).

When comparing the price and strength of their CBD oils, going for a higher potency works out cheaper in the long run as a person using 20g of CBD per day will spend £1.80 per day using their 5% CBD oil and £0.66 per day when using their 10% oil, a whopping saving of 63% when going for the higher potency oil.

Athletes CBD Oils (Broad-Spectrum)

As the company’s founder is a British professional boxer, Supreme CBD have also focused on developing their ‘Athletes’ range to offer THC-free products to professional athletes across all sports.

Their broad-spectrum CBD oils come in two strengths – 3% and 10% – and three different flavours, cherry, mint and apple:

CBD (mg) Bottle (ml) Concentration
Supreme CBD Cherry Oil 1000mg 30ml 3%
Supreme CBD Mint Oil 1000mg 30ml 3%
Supreme CBD Apple Oil 1000mg 30ml 3%
Supreme CBD Cherry Oil 3000mg 30ml 10%
Supreme CBD Mint Oil 3000mg 30ml 10%
Supreme CBD Apple Oil 3000mg 30ml 10%

*Amount of CBD oil per drop = 0.025ml

These flavoured CBD oils are light on taste and present a great alternative for people who prefer a little extra flavour with their CBD and do not like the raw taste of hemp.

Their athletes’ range is suitable for professional athletes across all sports who want to use CBD to remain on top form both physically and mentally. As this is a broad-spectrum CBD oil, it has Zero THC content while still packing all other cannabinoids, to add to the entourage effect.

Supreme CBD Capsules

If the taste of CBD oil isn’t your thing or you would prefer not to take CBD by using the dropper pipette and leaving the oil under the tongue, then you may want to check out Supreme CBD capsules, as you will be able to experience all the benefits of CBD without the downsides of CBD oil.

When buying their CBD capsules, you will only have a single option. Supreme CBD Capsules contain 10mg of broad-spectrum CBD encapsulated in an HPMC and Gellan Gum shell, making it suitable for vegans.

Choosing capsules is a great way to get your CBD intake and it’s incredibly travel friendly, the ideal solution for those who are always on the go.

As with other Supreme CBD products, their capsules contain no pesticides, herbicides, solvents or chemical fertilizers, they are sourced from organically grown, non-GMO, pesticide-free hemp plants that have been grown in the EU. They have also been independently lab tested for potency and purity.

Supreme CBD Gummies

If you are the type of person who is always searching for new ways to get your daily dose of CBD, then you may want to check out Surpeme CBD gummies, which is their widest product range.

Their gummies are infused with broad-spectrum CBD extracts and are 100% vegan. They come in different strengths and you will have the choice of quite a few flavours:

Supreme CBD Topicals

If your aim is to improve muscle recovery post workout, treat an inflamed muscle or tendon, or simply moisturize your skin, we would recommend looking at Supreme CBD topicals:

Lab Testing (10/10)

As a CBD company, Supreme CBD plays the transparency card with their customers and their aim is to create a more transparent hemp industry. As such, they have made a clear commitment to raising the bar of the quality of CBD products available in Germany and the rest of Europe.

Since many CBD products contain pesticides, herbicides, mould, fungi, dangerous mycotoxins and not the amount of CBD or THC advertised on their site, Supreme CBD are working closely with PhytoVista Laboratories, the UK’s premier testing facility for CBD and hemp based products.

In addition to being sourced and extracted from the highest-grade certified organic European hemp, they guarantee that their products are 100% organic and free of synthetic ingredients.

They allow customers to see their Certificates of Analysis online, which break down the potency of cannabinoids, the presence of terpenes and flavonoids, as well as the absence of heavy metals, mycotoxins, pesticides or microbes.

Below is their certificate of analysis for their Full-Spectrum 1000mg CBD oil.

Farming (EU Hemp)

Like most CBD companies, Supreme CBD does not grow its own hemp and relies on hemp farmers who are specialised in CBD and THC producing plants, which unlike fibre hemp plants that are used for the textile industry, need to be planted at wider intervals and harvested by hand, which requires specific farming methods.

Their hemp is sourced from the EU and grown under the highest agricultural directives in those countries.

Why EU hemp?

Hemp requires around 20-30 inches of rainfall during it’s growing season, either from rainfalls or via modern irrigation methods, and whilst the plant is largely unaffected by low temperatures and can even withstand frost down to -5°C, the ideal growing temperatures for good quality hemp are between 19-25°C.

Europe is a big producer of hemp with France leading the charge, followed by Italy and the Netherlands.

Outside of Europe, the US is also a large producer of hemp with Montana, Colorado, Kentucky, North Carolina and Oregon being the 5 largest producers in the country. These five states are important location for hemp farming as they have the right regulations to grow hemp and the perfect climate.

For all these reasons, it makes the Europe a great location for Supreme CBD to source their hemp from.

Hemp Preparation & Extraction

Once the plants have been harvested they are stored in a warehouse and left to dry. The dry hemp is then turned into a coarse powder – similar to coffee grounds – through a milling process which follows the strict standards of the hemp farming industry.

At that point, the hemp powder is transferred to the manufacturing and processing facility where it is needs to go through an extraction and purification process in order to remove all unwanted compounds and which produce a high-quality hemp extract which can then be used in oils, capsules, gummies and other CBD products.

Unlike many CBD products available on the market that use hemp produced at an industrial rate under very high temperatures to speed up the extraction process, but which ultimately degrades the quality of the CBD extract, Supreme CBD’s production method are clean and efficient as they use CO2 extraction.

Testing

Many products on the market contain pesticides, herbicides, mould, fungi and dangerous mycotoxins and for these reasons, Supreme CBD products go through a rigorous process to ensure they are tested for quality and potency. To do so, they use cutting-edge testing equipment and work with PhytoVista Laboratories, the UK’s premier testing facility for CBD and hemp based products, to test all their CBD products. The tests carried out focus on various dimensions to guarantee the quality and safety of each batch.

  • Over 200 different pesticides
  • Heavy Metals like Arsenic, Lead, or Mercury
  • Aflatoxins and Mycotoxins
  • Terpenes
  • Microbes

Cannabinoids Test: The Cannabinoid test allows Supreme CBD to accurately determinate the concentration of each cannabinoid in their product. This not only helps them ensure that the correct level of CBD is present within the oil (e.g. 5% concentration vs 10%), but it also gives customers full-transparency regarding what other cannabinoids – including CBG, CBC and CBDV – are present. This is critical as these additional cannabinoids can boost the effectiveness of a CBD oil when compared to just CBD alone. This is what is known as the ‘entourage effect’.

On top of looking for the presence of other cannabinoids, Supreme CBD check that there aren’t any illegal cannabinoids present such as THC, CBN or THCV.

Terpenes Test: Terpenes are produced by the cannabis flower in the same way cannabinoids are, and they are responsible for giving CBD oil its individual flavour profile. You are already familiar with them as terpenes are what give a lemon its citrusy smell.

When it comes to CBD oil, not only do terpenes determine the flavour and smell of the oil, but they also work together with cannabinoids to enhance the effectiveness of the CBD oil. So terpenes are also part of the ‘entourage effect’.

The key terpenes found in CBD oil are Myrcene (known to have relaxing and anti-inflammatory properties), Limonene (anti-fungal and antibacterial properties), Pinene (anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties), Linalool (stress-relieving and anti-depressant properties), Caryophyllene (known to reduce anxiety and inflammation) or Humulene (anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties).

Flavonoids Test: Flavonoids are phytonutrients found in the leaves, flowers and trichomes of the cannabis plant. They play a role in the plant pigmentation, taste and smell and along with cannabinoids and terpenes, they bind with cannabinoid receptors to contribute to the ‘entourage effect’.

Heavy Metals Test: Hemp, like every other plant, tends to absorb heavy metals from the soil, water and air. These heavy metals – which include arsenic, mercury, lead or cadmium – can be passed into the cannabis extract if present in the hemp, resulting in the consumer absorbing some of it into their own system. Due to the high toxicity of these heavy metals, human consumption could lead to serious health consequences and this is why Supreme CBD extracts are screened for these heavy metals to ensure their products are safe for human consumption.

Pesticides Test: Whilst pesticides are used in many forms of commercial farming, they are known to cause serious harm to the health of consumers, including cancer and mutation of their DNA, resulting in certain diseases. Whilst Supreme CBD’s hemp is grown organically without the use of pesticides, they test their CBD extracts for 67 different pesticides to ensure their products are clean and safe to consume.

Microbiological Test: To avoid any risk of microbes such as Shiga toxin E. coli, salmonella, or Listeria being present in their CBD extracts, which could lead to serious illnesses and health complications, Supreme CBD products got through microbiological tests to ensure they are microbe free.

Residual Solvents Test: Solvents such as butane and ethanol can be used to extract cannabinoids, terpenoids and flavonoids from the cannabis plant as well as during the filtration process, so it is key for CBD manufacturers to ensure that there are no residual traces of these solvents in their CBD extracts. Whilst Supreme CBD use CO2 during their extraction and filtration process, it is vital for them to test their CBD extracts for solvents such as ethanol, benzene, propane or methanol which could come from their extraction process or a contaminated soil from nearby farms.

Mycotoxins Test: Mycotoxins are naturally occurring toxins produced by certain moulds and fungi which can cause cancer and mutation of your DNA. Seeing as mould can grow on a variety of different crops, including hemp, it is vital for CBD manufacturers to run mycotoxins test on their CBD extracts. Supreme CBD currently tests for the 5 main mycotoxins including Aflatoxin B1, Aflatoxin B2, Aflatoxin G1, Aflatoxin G2 and Ochratoxin A, to ensure their products are clean and safe to consume.

This stuff is the best! I usually get the 1000mg Oil and large gummies! They help so much with my anxiety, sleep and recovery after training. Customer service is always exceptional and delivery is always when promised. Wont go anywhere else for my CBD 😁!

Been taking the 30ml -1500mg of full spectrum Supreme CBD oil for a month now. I’d started to get swelling in my finger joints, whether it was cold or hot weather which has reduced significantly since I started taking it daily. Noticeable improvements in my sleep too, and I’ve got a bad back. I’m a convert! Will be placing an order for more.
