The company has won multiple awards over the last few years (22 international awards at the time of writing) including the “Best CBD Brand” at the 2021 Cannavist Awards as well as the “Best CBD Edibles” at the 2021 High Times Cannabis Cup.
The company has focused on creating high quality CBD products – including oils, gummies, vapes and disposable vape pens and amassed over 250 five-star reviews on Trustpilot, for an average score of 4.8 / 5.0.

Orange County CBD has been officially tested and reviewed by the CBD Unboxed team. Products have not been gifted by the brand and as such, this review is 100% independent and based on our personal findings.
I founded CBD Unboxed because I suffer from bilateral femoroacetabular impingement (known as FAI), which occurs when the femoral head (ball of the hip) pinches up against the acetabulum (cup of the hip). Over time this condition damaged all the cartilage in my hip, resulting in hip osteoarthritis, a very painful condition. To manage my pain and to avoid relying on traditional painkillers which have known side effects, I turned to more natural products and found CBD to be a godsend. I have now used CBD for the past 7 years and want to share my experience with you.
Our Review: Orange County CBD Oil 3000mg
Our review focused on Orange County Full-Spectrum CBD Oil 3000mg (10% concentration with coconut MCT oil carrier), which is a full-spectrum CBD oil. It contains all the natural hemp extracts such as Cannabidiol (CBD), CBDv (Cannabidivarin), CBG (Cannabigerol), CBC (Cannabichromene) and CBT (Cannabicitran), as well as the naturally-occurring terpenes, flavonoids, and Omega acids.
As it is a full-spectrum product, it also contains trace amounts of THC, but it is non-psychoactive as the hemp plants used to produce the CBD extracts contain less than 0.2% THC.
During the two-week period, we took 40mg of CBD daily broken down as follows – 20mg in the morning, 10mg at lunchtime and 10mg an hour before bedtime.
Price-wise, their 10% CBD Oil retails at £90.00 (£0.03 per mg of CBD) which may sound expensive, but it is actually quite an affordable CBD oil as each bottle contains 30ml and 3000mg of CBD, as opposed to the traditional 10ml bottle. It is therefore comparable to a 10ml bottle containing 1000mg of CBD and costing £30.

So how well did Orange County full-spectrum CBD oil perform in our review?
Effectiveness (9.5/10)
Orange County CBD Oil for Pain Relief
After taking Orange County CBD oil for a period of two weeks, I can confidently say that it is a very high quality full-spectrum oil which has robust pain relieving and anti-inflammatory properties.
The worse for me is usually first thing in the morning as my hip feels very stiff and painful after lying in bed for 8 or so hours. However, by taking approximately 40mg of their CBD oil daily, broken down throughout the day (morning, lunchtime, evening), I was able to get on with my day without having to worry too much about hip pain or discomfort.
Even on days where I hit the gym or increased my physical activity, I was able to perform well and did not feel like I had been hit by a bus afterwards. If like me you suffer from a painful condition like arthritis, you’ll know first hand that chronic pain is not only debilitating physically, but it can also affect your overall well-being and mental health. So being able to simply get on with my day by taking 20mg of CBD first thing in the morning made me feel so much better.
I also found the oil to be very effective to help me relax after work or in the evening before going to bed. As it is taken sublingually, you will usually start feeling the positive effects of their oil within 25-30 minutes of taking it, so it’s relatively fast-acting too.
Other Benefits of Orange County CBD
Other than helping with pain and inflammation, we found Orange County CBD oil to work incredibly well for other conditions such as sleep, anxiety or stress.
This is because CBD interacts the specific receptors in the body, namely CB1R and CB2R.
- CB1 receptors, which are located in various regions of the body, with a large concentration in the central nervous system and brain, co-ordinate mood, emotion, appetite, and other functions.
- CB2 receptors are more commonly found in the immune system and are responsible for controlling inflammation and pain. CBD stimulates these receptors and induces the body to release serotonin.
CBD also increases the level of Serotonin, or 5-HT, a neurotransmitter that carries signals from one neuron to the other. In doing so, it helps with the below conditions:
- CBD Oil for Sleep: By taking CBD oil just before going to bed, it relaxes both the mind and body and helps you fall asleep faster, as well as stay asleep throughout the night.
- CBD Oil for Stress: Through its interaction with the hippocampus and the amygdala, CBD oil can relax the mind and reduce the symptoms of stress.
- CBD Oil for Fibromyalgia: CBD oil can help fibromyalgia sufferers by reducing the pain experienced as well as the level of inflammation, and it can also improve their sleep.
- CBD for Anxiety: CBD has both anti-anxiety and antidepressant properties, and can be a great alternative to anxiety medications which have known side-effects.

- CBD Oil for Nausea: CBD is know to have antiemetic properties, meaning that it prevents people from feeling nauseous or wanting to vomit. It has been used widely for cancer patients as it helps relieve some of the side-effects of chemotherapy.
- CBD Oil for Period Cramps: CBD has been proven to help reduce unpleasant period-related symptoms such as pain, cramping, poor sleep, nausea and anxiety
Taste (8.5/10)
Natural CBD oils, particularly full-spectrum products, tend to have a very earthy or grassy flavour profile. This is completely normal and comes from the fact that the extracts used to produce the CBD oil contain all the plant compounds – that’s cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids.
However, Orange County CBD oil is quite palatable and has a rather nice flavour profile. The oil has a light brown colour, which indicates a mild flavour profile – usually the darker the oil, the stronger the taste and aftertaste.
This is a well balanced oil, and whilst this is by no means the best tasting full-spectrum oil on the market, we actually really enjoyed it.
The lighter and pleasant flavour profile is likely to come from two things:
- Californian Hemp: Historically, we’ve found that hemp from California tends to be milder. This could be due to the weather as well as the proximity to the ocean, leading to the soil and air absorbing some of the Ocean salt water, thus altering the flavour profile slightly.
- MCT Oil Carrier: Orange County use Coconut MCT oil as the main carrier, which tends to have a more pleasant taste than companies using hempseed oil.
For a Better Taste: Flavoured Oils
For those of you who do not like the natural taste of Orange County full-spectrum CBD oil, they have developed a full-range of flavoured oils, including Mint, Cherry and Apples. Now that’s tasty!
Value for Money (10/10)
Price wise, you can get Orange County CBD Oil 3000mg for £90.00 which works out at £0.03 per mg of CBD. This makes Orange County one of the 5 cheapest CBD oils on the market as based on 20mg of CBD per day, it will cost you £0.60 daily.
A person weighing 150-240 lbs would usually take between 20mg and 40mg of CBD per day depending on the severity of their symptoms. A 30ml bottle of their 3000mg CBD oil (retail: £90.00) will therefore last between 75 and 150 days and cost between £0.60 and £1.20 per day, which is incredibly cheap when compared to other CBD brands in our Top 10.

We first found out about Orange County CBD after using one of their disposable vape pens, which worked incredibly well for fast-acting pain relief. So we decide to test their other products as the company has developed an impressive range of CBD infused oils (natural and flavoured), gummies, creams and balms as well as extracts.
Let’s dive into their full product range.
1. Full-Spectrum CBD Oils (Natural Flavour)
Orange County full-spectrum oils are made from organically-grown Californian hemp extracts which have been mixed in their UK laboratory with an MCT oil carrier. Being a full-spectrum oil, it has gone through very little refinement and is therefore as close to the plant as possible, which means it contains all the Cannabinoids (CBD, CBDv, CBG, CBDa, CBC, CBT), as well as the naturally-occurring terpenes, flavonoids, and Omega acids.
All the oils in this range also contain trace amounts of THC, but they are non-psychoactive as the plants used to produce the CBD extracts contain less than 0.2% THC, making them safe to consume.
As they are sold in 30ml bottles instead of 10ml ones, be aware that some of the lower strengths oils (e.g. 500mg to 1500mg) will therefore have a low concentration of CBD.

Top Tip to Save Money: Whilst buying their 1.5% CBD oil may sound like the right move as it is appears cheaper at only £25 per bottle, we would always recommend to focus on the price per mg as this allows for simple price comparison between the different products. Based on their pricing, it is actually much more economical to buy their 20% CBD oil as it only costs £0.23 for 10mg of CBD, so over a 50% discount when compared to the price of their 1.5% and 3% CBD oils. Although it costs £140, it contains 6000mg of CBD and will last you almost a year (300 days) when taking 20mg of CBD per day.
2. Broad-Spectrum Oils (Flavoured & 0% THC)
Orange County have also developed broad-spectrum flavoured CBD oils, which have all the properties of their full-spectrum oils, but do not contain any THC. Their broad-spectrum oils are the perfect option for those who want to consume CBD, but would rather not ingest THC (e.g. athletes, armed forces) or those who hate the natural taste of hemp.
Offering these broad-spectrum oils as flavoured seems strange as they have gone through an extra refinement process to remove the unwanted THC and plant waxes, making them much more palatable right off the bat.
They are also perfect for beginners or those with mild conditions as the concentration varies from 1.5% to 5%.

As is the case with their CBD oils, these capsules are derived from organic hemp plants that are grown under the highest agricultural directives in the USA and CBD extracts are produced using CO2 extraction, resulting in high-quality CBD capsules.
The CBD extracts are encapsulated in a gelatine capsule shell, but the company does not mention if the shell is made from bovine gelatine or whether it is in fact plant-based. For that reason, we cannot say if their CBD capsules are vegan friendly.
