After testing 2000mg CBD entourage oil spray (10% concentration with olive oil carrier) earlier this year, we were looking forward to giving their CBD capsules a go.
As Love CBD capsules come in a four strengths – 5mg and 30mg per capsule – we opted for a bottle of their 600mg CBD capsules which contain 10mg of CBD per capsules as these are more versatile when it comes to getting the right CBD dosage, especially when compared to 30mg CBD capsules.
A bottle of their 600mg CBD capsules contain 60 individual capsules, each made from natural ingredients and broad-spectrum cannabis extract, which means they contain all the other all-natural hemp extracts such as Cannabidiol (CBD), Cannabidiolic acid (CBDa), CBDv (Cannabidivarin), CBG (Cannabigerol), CBC (Cannabichromene) and CBT (Cannabitriol), as well as all of the naturally-occurring terpenes, flavonoids, and Omega acids, but are THC free.
During our week-long test, we took 20mg of CBD in the morning on an empty stomach (2 x 10mg capsules), followed by 10mg (1 x 10mg capsule) at lunchtime and a further 10mg (1 x 10mg capsule) an hour before bedtime, giving us a total of 40mg of CBD per day.
So how well did Love CBD capsules perform?
Love CBD Oil for Pain Relief
Love CBD 10mg CBD capsules have excellent analgesic (i.e. to relieve pain) and anti-inflammatory properties.
The capsules are easily swallowed with a glass of water (or beverage of your choice), but unlike CBD oil which is absorbed quickly into the bloodstream, they have to go through the digestive track and therefore take a little longer to get to work. On average, the effects of their CBD capsules are felt 45min to 60min after taking them, which isn’t ideal if you are looking for a fast acting CBD product.
By taking 2 CBD capsules (20mg) immediately after a tough workout in the morning (on an empty stomach), and one additional capsule (10mg of CBD) around lunchtime, I have experienced a reduction of my pain levels. In that respect, their CBD capsules have allowed me to just simply get on with my day without worrying too much about hip pain or discomfort. I’ve been able to remain active throughout the week I’ve taken their CBD capsules and even on days where I increased my physical activity, I was able to perform with little to no discomfort. Best of all, I was able to stop taking traditional painkillers, which is a win in my book.
Immediately after I stopped taking Love 10mg CBD capsules at the end of the week long product test, I noticed that my hip slowly started to be painful and stiff again, especially first thing in the morning and after my daily workout. After two or three days of not taking their CBD capsules, the pain and discomfort were back during the day and my sleep was disrupted due to the pain, which clearly shows that their CBD capsules work.

Love CBD capsules also have relaxing and calming properties which means that I experienced better sleep and felt less stressed throughout the week.
As their capsules are available in 5mg, 10mg, 20mg and 30mg, choosing the 10mg capsules allowed me to take one capsule just before bedtime, which is the exact amount of CBD oil I take every evening. Doing so allowed me to feel more relaxed and calm before going to bed, and I felt it incredibly to fall asleep during that week.
It is worth noting that as CBD capsules take a little longer to be processed by the body since they go through the digestive track, you’ll need to take them 30-45 minutes before going to bed so you can feel the effect when you go to bed, not an hour later.

Advantages of Love CBD Capsules
Love CBD capsules have many advantages over other CBD products such as CBD oil or CBD gummies.

Disadvantages of Love CBD Capsules
Whilst there are quite a few advantages to getting your daily dose of CBD using Love CBD capsules, there are unfortunately several drawbacks which are worth considering.
- Less bioavailable – the term bioavailability stands for the proportion of a drug or substance which reaches the systemic circulation. By definition, when a substance is administered intravenously, its bioavailability is 100%. However, when the same substance is administered via other routes (e.g. mouth), its bioavailability is generally lower than that of intravenous due to the fact that it needs to go through the intestines and digestion process. For that reason, CBD oil is more bioavailable than CBD capsules as it comes into contact with the sublingual gland (under the tongue) which speeds up the process of absorption and quickly enters the bloodstream.
- Not fast acting – another problem with CBD capsules is that they are not as fast acting as CBD oil seeing as it will take some time to be processed and broken down by your digestive system. So seeing as the faster the CBD is absorbed, the sooner it can get to work, CBD capsules will usually take between 30-60 minutes to act when CBD oil takes less than 20 minutes.
- Interaction with other medications – It’s also worth noting that CBD may make it harder for your body to process certain medications, so if you are taking any other medications, be sure to check with your GP before taking CBD products.
- Minor side effects – Finally, CBD can cause side effects in some people including drowsiness, changes in mood, nausea, and changes in appetite. Every individual will be affected differently, and in most cases, there are no side effects to worry about.

CBD capsules are similar to vitamin or supplement pills and as such can be taken in the same way.

Whilst it may be confusing at the beginning, it’s incredibly simple to work out how many CBD capsules you need to eat depending on your daily requirements and the strength of the product you bought. Most CBD capsules contain between 5mg of CBD and 50mg of CBD.
So assuming you need to hit 25mg of CBD per day you will need:
